Tamassa, a vibrant four-star beach hotel in Mauritius, set in tropical gardens on white sandy beaches with rustling coconut trees and a cobalt ocean.

This all-inclusive hotel in Mauritius, located at Bel Ombre in the south-west of the island, is surrounded by dramatic mountains and dense sugarcane fields. Here an effervescent zest for life combines with contemporary design to bring the young (and young at heart) the perfect spot for fun and relaxation.

At Tamassa Resort, we live life to its fullest, whether that’s through thrill-a-minute adventure, eye-opening natural discovery and good old-fashioned lounging on the beach. Choose from four pools to dip into, or take to the waves and kayak, sail, pedal-boat or windsurf your way around the warm seas. If you prefer life under the water to splashing around on top of it, strap on a snorkel and discover a wealth of rainbow-hued ocean life, or get even closer to the subaquatic action by paying for a PADI diving session with our five-star instructors. On land, play bocce ball, ping pong, volleyball or tennis; sign up for yoga and a tailor-made workout courtesy of LUX* Me Fitness; and hike or bike your way around the island’s innumerable scenic wonders.

Tamassa Resort has food to match every mood, from serene candlelit suppers under the stars to lavish laid-back feasts, where gifted chefs whip up culinary wizardry right in front of your eyes.

Grab gourmet street food at the Chef’s Truck, where we prepare the finest island-style burgers you’ll taste in southern Mauritius, alongside panini, green papaya salad and an array of authentic Mauritian wraps. Manzé Lacaz lets you sample the finest home cooking of our own resort team members – just pick whose speciality you fancy and book in advance.

At our show kitchen, you can take a tasting tour of the world, with superbly prepared buffet dishes from the Mediterranean, Asia, the Middle East, India and many more. If you like to dine with sand beneath your feet and a cocktail in your hand, the Playa beach bar is waiting, along with a relaxed Mediterranean menu and an easy-going vibe.

After dinner, pull up a stool at the bar to sample an enticing array of local rums, and stay up late soaking up the electric atmosphere.

Tamassa Resort is as lively after sunset as it is during the day. With one of the few resort night clubs on this south of the island right here on site, it’s a party-perfect destination that promises excitement every evening. Get your glad rags on and hit the club for a night of brisk beats and tropical tunes, or discover an unending array of entertainment laid on elsewhere in the resort. We bring in authentic sega dancers from all over Mauritius, showcase talented local music troupes and performers of every variety, so at Tamassa Resort there’s always a spectacle to see and a rhythm to dance too.

Mauritius is home to some of the world’s most scenic – and demanding – golf courses. At Tamassa Resort, you can try your swing at the nearby Peter Matkovich-designed Heritage Golf championship course. Set between the mountains and the sea, and interlaced with lakes, streams and lush tropical foliage, the biggest difficulty of this par-72 is taking your eyes of the scenery and concentrating on your game. Alternatively, take a trip to Matkovich’s new challenge, the 18-hole course at the Avalon Golf & Country Club, which offers Tamassa guests exclusive day trips every Monday.
